LA.Flash Online Mission Statement
The LA.Flash Online Users Group (LAFOUG) creates opportunities for its membership to:
- learn about multimedia, with a focus on the Adobe Flash Platform (AFP)
- network with other multimedia professionals using the collaborative methods of the Adobe Engagement Platform (AEP)
- support the development of multimedia talent in and around the Los Angeles area through the usage of the AFP
To this end, the LAFOUG is dedicated to conducting all meetings and interactions online, thereby allowing people to enjoy our user group meetings and activities from the comfort of their home or office. We are a volunteer-based organization so your contributions to our organization only serve to make this a stronger community for all. Volunteer to donate your time, host or present a meeting.

FLASHAPALOOZA ::: Volunteering for the Event
So I signed up today to be a volunteer for FLASHAPALOOZA. I am very excited about this event. This is the first time I will be able to go, and I can't think of any better way to go than to be involved with the inner workings. I don't care if I am just on clean-up crew or whatever, I am stoked to be a part of this event.

Who Doesn't Love O'Reilly
Not Bill O'Reilly. Berkeley-based Tiim O'Reilly. The guru.
Read the article by Tim O'Reilly from the Emerging Technology Conference on The Future of Software and Proprietary Technology:
O'Reilly argues that as we become increasingly wireless, consistency of our personal data becomes more important than the device - the laptop, the phone, the iPhone, the iPod.

Beginner Flash/AS3 person
I have designed sites (and logos and brochures and print) for 20+ years. Always hired out the Flash/PHP/ASP etc etc. With the economy downturn, I am going to finally learn AS3 and Flash and become more self-sufficient. I do not know where to start and am looking for advice on how and where and what to learn and in what order.
